Concert

Hitting the high notes at our special concert are G6 and J8!!
Every so often the girls are keen to put on a concert for us! We are so lucky. This concert was on Saturday afternoon. They even organised snacks and lucky seat tickets. We had singing, a witch, a clown and a play!! I took some photos.

THE END!!

Dress-up Day

School had a dress up day to raise money for Rosies - a charity that feeds the homeless people. They can often be seen in and around Beenleigh at night supplying meals and chatting to those unfortunate enough to be homeless.

Each class was give a different letter of the alphabet. They had to dress up as something starting with that letter. Us parents became very innovative!!

G6's letter was J. She was a JUNGLE GIRL!

J8'sletter was M! She was a MAGICIAN!

T10 had the letter S! I had a costume for a surgeon, surfer, sport person, scout ..... He went as a SCHOOL BOY IN FREE DRESS!!

J8 researches 'Why we need water?'

I cannot get this poster the right way around so you will have to turn your head onto the side to view it. Josie spent a long time researching the reasons why we need water on the internet. She also knew quite a lot of reasons herself. She discovered that we need water for our bodies - to keep us alive, for animals to live, for the trees to grow to produce oxygen for us to breath, to clean, to wash, for recreationfor jobs.....We can survive without food for 30 -40 days but only a few days without water. Three quarters of our bodies are made up of water.
There are many facts placed all around the edge of the poster!! The rest of the information is presented on clouds and the pictures are represented in raindrops!! Her teacher thought she did a great job and had been listening and contributing to the class discussions.

T10 has a birthday sleep over - at last!!

T10 had 4 friends for a birthday sleepover. I prepared nothing as it was for the 'big' boys! T10 wanted to play the PlayStation, Sing Star and Lego with his mates. One friend brought his iToy so the boys could see themselves on the tv screen! The hit of the night was a Simpsons PlayStation game. I think they snuck it back on at about 11pm after I had put them all to bed. Dinner was KFC! They ate a bucket and extra chips!! Then we enjoyed a Freddo Ice cream cake!! Thomas had a great time which finished with pancakes and cereal for breakfast.

Rain Play

21 May 2009
It has rained and rained here for two days! Yesterday I was called out of work to come to school and pick up the three musketeers because our roads were flooding! The school was calling everyone who lived out bush like us. Thankfully by the time I managed to pick everyone up the bridge we cross had just been reopened!! We were just lucky that there had been a break in the rain for a few hours. Just near our estate was flooded across the main road and further down at another creek. Today it did not rain UNTIL 3pm! Yes, right when everyone is out picking up children from schools. It has absolutely poured so hard here that the three musketeers are now down in our creek line splashing about, building dams and investigating mini waterfalls. I have to try to take some photos from up on our balcony so they are not that good but will give you some idea of where they are.
G7 has just come back up to the house absolutely freezing! AND here is J9 - what an angel. J9 has just exclaimed to me that she wants to do a project about all the water around our house! She is supposed to be doing a project about why we need water! Maybe she could say she needs water to play in, to learn from while she is playing, to investigate, to experiment with ............

Movie World

On Mothers Day (2009) we went to Movie World. T10 and Dad tried all the roller coasters and scary rides. J8 and G6 spent a lot of time on the kid's rollercoaster and Mum had a go on the dodgem cars at the end of the day.

Fun on the carousel!

Hi Mum. We love this rollercoaster!!

T10 just can't hide his excitement at waiting for his sisters!!

What a lucky Mum to have three lovely children.

T10 says his best part about Movie World was riding the Batwing Space Shot that shot him and his father horizontally up in the air! I think his father would say that was NOT the highlight of his day!! J8 and G6 both just loved the kid's rollercoaster so much that at the end of the day we had to drag them off! They had been on it 6 times in a row. Mum enjoyed the parade, shows and especially the 4D Shrek Movie - water actually sprays out of the seat in front of you and I don't know how they make it feel like spiders are crawling up your legs! The seats even shake and move with the picture! Mum also enjoyed the dodgem cars. We finished our day off with Subway and Noodle Box on the way home.
